- Sea Hunt 50th Anniversary Commemoration
The National Association of Vintage Equipment Divers (NAVED) and Allan Klauda organized an event at Silver Springs, FL. to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Sea Hunt. Around 100 episodes were filmed at Silver Springs. Twenty properly attired vintage divers took turns to reenact scenes from the Sea Hunt series for the delight of Silver Springs patrons, who were watching from the glass-bottom boats. Patrons witnessed knife fights, hose cuttings, alligator fights, spear fights, treasure fights, damsel in distress rescues, snake attacks, romance, and more. Those on land strolled through the troves of vintage gear laid out for display, were educated about the history of Sea Hunt and vintage dive gear, and had an opportunity to speak with series experts, memorabilia collectors, actors and set personnel.

The manta rays or Socorro Islands are known to approach divers seemingly seeking an interaction. Whether curiosity or the feel of diver's bubbles against their bellies, one thing is certain - you will come away from this experience with everlasting memories.

- USS New York carrier escort
Home
On November 2nd, 2009, the USS New York, an amphibious assault ship built in part with World Trade Center Towers salvaged steel, entered the NY harbor to pay homage to it's namesake city. The PT-728, a patrol torpedo boat, was granted the privilege to be the leading vessel escorting the carrier into the harbor. I was asked to document this historic event. Joining the escort on the ship's sides were NYPD and Coast Guard vessels. The PT-728 greeted the carrier at Verazzano Bridge and proceeded to lead it into the harbor. The USS New York halted at Ground Zero to render a 21-gun salute. The ship then steamed up the Hudson almost to the George Washington Bridge before turning around to dock at Pier 88 next to the aircraft carrier Intrepid.
